"SLIDE SHOW "

Media Required

Each SLIDE SHOW is composed of pictures. You have to name each picture with an increasing number starting from 1 (the first picture to be shown). We suggest you name your pictures "MM1", "MM2 " etc. After you have all your pictures numbered and Saved, you have to compress them (see below for an explanation). If you want text and/or sound linked to the picture/s you need to include a text file to explain to us which text and/or sound goes with which picture, and you will need to add the sounds to the compressed file. If you want a different showing time or a different transition to each picture you will need to add a text file with your instructions to the compressed file containing your pictures.

TO PREPARE YOUR PICTURES

The following instructions tell you how to create your pictures for your SLIDE SHOW. If you would also like to include an ENTRY SCREEN or a MAIN SCREEN [see 'more'] the procedure is the same ; just remember to Save your SLIDE SHOW pictures as 'MM 1", "MM 2 " etc.
This is a guideline on how to create your pictures from scratch. These are the steps that should be followed using PHOTOSHOP, but almost every Image-editing software uses the same simple procedure.

  1. Go to the File option on the menu bar and Choose New:
    Photoshop New window
    A window will open similar to the above one with the information about your new image file. To create a full screen image [means an image that will completely fill your screen] write exactly what is in the example, that is 640 by 480; otherwise, if you want to create a picture that uses only part of your screen use a smaller size. If the box next to Resolution says anything other than 72, change it as well. Click OK.
  2. Create your picture using the tools offered by your image editing software
  3. When your picture is complete Choose Save As
    Photoshop Save as
  4. Name the File ["MM1"] and add the jpg extension or pct extension accordingly to the file format. [see next step]
    Photoshop Save as window
  5. Choose a File Format, JPEG or PICT file. Click OK.
    Photoshop choose file format

TO COMPRESS FILES:

You will need to compress all your files in order to send them to us. Compressed files are also referred to as Zipped files. These files are smaller and easier to load than uncompressed files. Zipped files can be recognized by their extension: zip. You must use a special "Zip" program to compress and decompress files. For Macintosh computers; DropStuff, StuffIt Expander, ZipIt, MacLHA. For Windows; StuffIt Expander for Windows, WinZip, LHA. Following are links that point to information on how to compress files;
